To Whom It May Concern:

 

I would like to use this letter to express my intention to enroll my three children into Little Starts Centre once it is operational. My husband and I both work for Toronto Emergency Medical Services, and we are both shift workers. Our shifts are typically from 07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00. Our twelve-hour rotating shifts, coupled with a two hour daily commute, means we have struggled to find care for our three young children starting from 05:30 to 20:00. We were thrilled to discover there will soon be a 24hr a day, 364 days a year child care centre. This is the type of care my husband and I have been searching for these past six years. 

 

Being away from home for fourteen or more hours, we look forward to the secure live video feed that Little Starts Centre will provide for their parents. It is a comfort to know that at any time I can log onto my work computer and see what activities my children are participating in. 

 

The flexibility of the staff and the centre’s hours appeal greatly to us. As commuters, we often have to contend with adverse traffic conditions and can often find ourselves delayed coming home. With Little Starts Centre, we have peace of mind knowing that if we are held back at work, or stuck on the highway during inclement weather, our children will be cared for.

 

Our children’s ages are currently 6, 5 and two years of age. Thus we look forward to many years of before and after school care, full day child-care, overnight and weekend child care, as well as holiday programs for our children.
